Just because you don't get into your first choice, or even your safety school, doesn't mean you have to succumb to futility and completely give up on life. If you have the drive to accomplish something, then you will always, always find a way. So often people simply don't ask people about their options and that is a big mistake. Ask. Find alternatives. But don't give in if things don't work out the way you thought they were going to. I've been there, and it sucks, but I was lucky enough to be given another chance. Not everyone gets that luxury but even then, it's not worth it to just give in. What's the point of working hard in school if you're just going to go, "screw it," and give up on everything. No. If it's a problem, there will always be a solution, and if it doesn't have a solution, then it isn't a problem. But if you're passionate enough about something, then don't allow yourself to give in.
